The other night I plugged my cell phone into the power strip beside my bed. A few hours later, when I picked up my phone I realized that it wasn’t charging, so I moved it around a bit and the charge light illuminated. When I checked it again later it was still not charging, so I checked the power strip to make sure that it was plugged in and everything was in tact, but I soon discovered that the power strip was not securely plugged into the wall; therefore, my phone could not charge. This isn’t rocket science, we all know that electronic devices require electricity in order to perform, well human beings operate the same way.
“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” How many times have you heard that? It’s cute when you really think about it, but how many people take the notion to heart?
It’s not easy to turn a bad situation into something sweet. When you’re down and out, you like to hang out there, wallowing in your misery. If you’re lucky you’ll find someone who is willing commiserate with you, two is company, after all. When you finally begin to come out of the stupor, you realize that nothing has changed, so you begin to slosh around in the puddle of suffering all over again.
I’m willing to bet that there is at least one area of your life that you’re completely unhappy with. You try to pretend like it’s not that bad, but you’re miserable. You feel trapped. So what are you going to do about it? How can you get unstuck?
Maybe you’re in a relationship that sucks the life out of you or you hate your job. Perhaps you’re over weight and under motivated. Whatever it is, you’re not alone. There are millions of people out there who feel just as stuck as you.
