The real youYou were born into relationships – your mother, father, sister, brother, and a myriad of extended family members… that you probably don’t remember choosing.

Before the age of 7, you were assigned an identity. This identity is a collection of thoughts, ideas, and projections from family members and those close to you. This identity may or may not be who you really are, but for a good portion of your life it will be who you think you are.You will live up to this identity, in fact you will even claim it as your own. Until the day comes when it no longer serves you.

And that day will come.

It will be uncomfortable at first. Some people won’t like it. You will lose some friends and maybe some family too. You will be labeled as this or that. You will be talked about and praised. You will be encouraged and crucified. But that’s just how it goes. The journey home to yourself is unpaved and unpaved roads are riddled with shit and obstacles.

You arrived to this planet as a blank canvas, free of expectation and burden. You didn’t come here feeling less than. Somewhere along the way you were taught to question  your intuition, to compromise your desires, and to value the opinion of others before your own. You learned how to be everything but your true self.

But it won’t always be that way…

When you’re ready, and only when you’re truly ready, you’ll step out of the shadows and stand tall as the real you.
